5 Upcoming Games I’m Looking Forward to in 2025
Five games I’m most looking forward to next year!
I can’t believe the new year is coming up. Days are going by way too fast and I’m not at all ready for it to be 2025. As always, there were so many things I wanted to do and didn’t get around to doing. Partly because this year was a bit crazy in my personal life haha. Well, before I get into my list, I do want to look back at last year’s list to see how I did. All five of them did release this year, you love to see that and two years in a row, and I ended up playing 3 out of the 5 I listed. And I enjoyed all three of them a lot. I’m so glad when this happens as there’s nothing more disappointing than when you don’t like a game you’ve been looking forward to.
Anyway, let’s get into the list! I don’t think I mentioned this before, but I do aim to put games that are more or less guaranteed to release in the upcoming year. These are in no particular order and I limited myself to only listing one upcoming otome game.
Red Bell’s Lament
The otome visual novel I’m looking forward to the most! There was a good handful this one was competing with, with one that was so close to making the list instead, but I settled on this one. This revolving around vampires and the protagonist joining a group of vampire hunters after swearing revenge really pushed this one as my number one. Red Bell’s Lament was the otome I found myself most interested in and I love the artwork that was shown so far. This is set to come out sometime in 2025
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist
While technically this one released in early access earlier this year, it is fully releasing early next year so I’m going to count it. This one is a metroidvania and a sequel to Ender Lilies. While I haven’t finished Ender Lilies yet, I love it so far and I was so excited when I heard it was getting a sequel. I have also heard that Ender Magnolia is a big step up from Ender Lilies, which makes me look forward to this game even more. I am planning on finishing Ender Lilies before picking this up, but I’m still quite busy so I might not before this releases on January 23, 2025.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure
I knew about Hello Kitty Island Adventure when it originally released and I was so devasted when I saw that it was an Apple Arcade exclusive. I love Animal Crossing (which this game looked similar to and others have compared it to since) and I love Sanrio, so this seemed like the perfect game for me. I hoped that it would someday be ported to the Switch and it’s finally happening! I can’t wait for this to be released on January 30, 2025.
The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-
Of course I’d be interested in a game that’s from the creators of Danganronpa and the Zero Escape Series. Especially since I’ve played and loved the games they’ve put out since those two series ended. This game looks so good, bringing in that good Danganronpa art style and character design, and the game seemed like it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m also confident that the story here is going to be good as you and the other students guard their school over 100 days. The Hundred Line is releasing on April 24, 2025.
Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land
Ever since I played Atelier Ryza and came out loving it, I have been wanting to play other Atelier games and looking forward to see what’s going to be next for the series after the Ryza trilogy was completed. I was so excited when Atelier Yumia was announced, and while I was also excited that the mobile only game was getting a console game too I’m looking forward to this one the most. Atelier Yumia looks great, the combat looks great, and the story sounds interesting. I’m looking forward to diving into the world of Atelier Yumia and meeting all the characters there. As well as seeing how alchemy will be handled here. Atelier Yumia is releasing on March 21, 2025.
