5 Upcoming Games I’m Looking Forward to in 2024
So many games to look forward to, but which ones am I most excited about?
2024 is fast approaching and aside from mourning 2023 since there was so much more I wanted to do, it’s also nice to know that games I’ve been looking forward to are closer to being released. Before I go into the top 5 games I’m looking forward to that’s hopefully releasing in 2024, let’s see how I did for games I was looking forward to this year…last year. All 5 games ended up releasing, you love to see that, and I ended up playing 4 out of the 5 games I listed. Not to mention, I really liked all the games I did play.
So, what games am I most looking forward to in 2024? Let’s see in no particular order:
Tengoku Struggle -Strayside-
You (probably) know me, I love me some otome visual novels. There were a few that are already confirmed for 2024, but I only had room for one and I have to say I’m looking forward to Tengoku Struggle -Strayside- the most. Not only did the opening catch my attention (seriously, it’s a great opening), but I love the artwork, the look of all the LIs, and especially the character you play as (Enma Rin). The story also seems like it’ll be an interesting one and I hope it lands on its feet. This one is confirmed to be releasing sometime in April.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake
Just like with Mario RPG, the early Paper Mario games were ones I never got to play. Mainly since my family never owned the consoles they were first published on. I did play the most recent one, The Origami King, which I did like and did make me want to play the Paper Mario games people always say are the best ones. So you can imagine how happy I was that Nintendo revealed that they’re going to release The Thousand-Year Door on the Switch and just like that, I don’t have to figure out emulating! I’m excited to finally play and experience what everyone has been raving about.
Princess Peach: Showtime!
Princess Peach is getting another game! I love Princess Peach, she is even one of the few characters I play in the Smash games, and I loved Super Princess Peach on the DS. So when I saw that she was getting another game, I was ecstatic. Especially since she’ll be transforming into various different jobs like pastry chef (my favorite) and a swordfighter. I’m so happy Peach got another game and I can’t wait to play it. And guess what, this has a confirmed release date for March 22!
Magical Delicacy
This is a game where you not only play as a witch (on brand for me), but also one that cooks dishes, delivers them herself, and explore the town so she can get her ingredients. All while befriending those around you. What I also like the most is that it does look like you don’t need the right ingredients as a trailer even shows you that you can make substitutions and add more to help balance out the flavor that you were going for. I’m looking forward to playing this game (and I hope this gets a demo) not only for the gameplay, but also for the story that the store page hints at.
Metaphor: ReFantazio
A fantasy RPG made by some of the people that were also on the Persona team? Count me in! The game looks great so far, it has the stylization that Persona has as well as the same mechanics, and looks like its in a cool fantasy setting. I’m already ready to play this title and when this comes out you better believe I’m clearing my schedule for it.
