Games That Interested Me During Playstation’s 2025 February State of Play

Interesting games all around
A little late, but I’ve been busy and I finally was able to carve out some time to watch the recent Playstation State of Play! You can watch it here, so make sure to check it out as I will only go over games that caught my eye. My taste won’t b everyone’s taste after all.
Digimon Story Time Stranger
The latest in the Digimon Story series is finally here! In this RPG, unravel a mystery that spans across the human world and the Digital World, collecting and raising a wide variety of Digimon to save the world.
I have yet to play Digimon Cyber Sleuth to really see if I’d enjoy the Digimon series, but until then I’m going to look forward to new Digimon games. Though, don’t worry, if I don’t get to it by the time Time Stranger comes out, I’m not going to pick it up until I check out and complete Cyber Sleuth.
Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020
Earth is dying and humanity is running out of time. 12 light years from home, Tau Ceti f offers a small sliver of hope. When the colony ship Cassiopeia crash lands on the planet, its crew soon realize they are far from being alone. In space, death takes many forms.
I’m looking forward to this since I’ve played every other Supermassive Games game, but like always I’m going to see how it is first. Though, I’m mostly waiting until the Curator’s Cut becomes free for non-preorder buyers if it’s going to have it. It’s going to be weird not having the Curator there though. He was my favorite character in the whole Dark Pictures Anthology. Coming October 2, 2025
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic
Enter the abandoned workshop of Murray’s Costume Manor and unravel the mystery left behind by the reclusive inventor, Edwin Murray. In Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic, you’ll step into a world where every dark corner holds a secret and every flicker of light hints at an ever-present threat. The Mimic, a prototype endoskeleton, can adapt to any costume and become any character, including what you fear most. Armed with only your wits, a few gadgets, and a heavily redacted corporate briefing, you’ll attempt to retrieve Fazbear’s prized prototype technology while grappling with cryptic clues and a relentless shadow determined to dispatch all unwanted company.
FNAF keeps roping me back into the franchise right as I think I’m done with it. Fingers crossed that this is better than Security Breach and it’s not a buggy mess on launch. This one is releasing June 13, 2025
The Midnight Walk
Become The Burnt One, befriend a lost lantern creature named Potboy, and use his flame to light your way through a conflicting world of wonder and horror. Survive and outsmart the many monsters eager to devour your little friend’s flame as you experience five tales of fire and darkness, featuring an incredible cast of odd characters.
This looks just as amazing as it did when this was first announced. Coming May 8, 2025.
Darwin’s Paradox
Embark on a grand adventure worthy of a true animated movie with Darwin, an octopus as charming as he is clever, ripped from the ocean and trapped in a massive and mysterious industrial complex. With his extraordinary intelligence and incredible abilities – swimming, camouflage, and many other fascinating skills – help him overcome the most formidable traps and dangers in this captivating platformer, adventure, and puzzle game.
Honestly, I wasn’t into this one in the beginning, but it grew on me.
Onimushu: Way of the Sword
Fight through bloodstained battlefields of intense swordplay action. Explore the historic Japanese capital of Edo-era Kyoto, twisted by malevolent clouds of Malice.
With every stage cloaked in mystery, danger and intrigue. Battle against monstrosities from the underworld known as Genma in a tale of dark fantasy.
Hell is Us
If war is the closest we get to hell on earth, it’s because Earth harbours the worst of demons: humankind. In an isolated country ravaged by infighting, discover the secrets of your past and deal with the repercussions of a mysterious calamity.
Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. Explore a semi-open world to find answers to your questions and face mysterious creatures all along your journey.
Not me thinking this was Death Stranding lol.
Days Gone Remaster
Fight to survive an environment ravaged by a deadly pandemic as former outlaw biker, Deacon St. John. Risk the threats of the Broken Road on the back of your trusty Drifter bike as you face terrifying hordes of relentless feral Freakers – as well as dangerous gangs of humans.
I’ve been meaning to play Days Gone for a while now, and it’s actually on my list of games to play soon, but I don’t think I’ll be going for the Remaster. For one, I don’t even know if I would like the game yet and two, I got it through PS+ so I don’t qualify for the $10 upgrade (*cries*).
Stellar Blade X Nikke Crossover DLC
Save humanity from extinction in post-apocalyptic action-adventure Stellar Blade™. Experience blistering combat and a twisting storyline as you unravel the mysteries of Earth’s downfall.
The sci-fi action game teams up with Goddess of Victory: Nikke for exciting new content: a boss battle, collectible dolls, stickers, and new outfits.
I still need to buy Stellar Blade, but honestly I’m glad I didn’t. Considering that I’m a “one and done” kinda person and you have to find the specific currency or outfit pieces while exploring. I can’t wait until I can play dressup with Eve though. I wasn’t that bad at the game when I played the demo, but I’m willing to struggle through the game if it means I can give my character cute outfits to wear. If you can’t tell already, I’m a fashion over stats player. This is coming sometime in June.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage
Rewind back to the 90s and live the defining summer of four high school girls as they forge bonds through their growing friendship, their punk band, and an unexplained event that will forever change their lives.
I really hope Lost Records is a good game. I’m happy this is coming to the PS Extra catalog though. I only have a little less than a month of my subscription and I’m definitely planning on playing the game soon (I can’t decide whether to play it before or after this other game that I should prioritize first). Tape 1 is available now with Tape 2 coming April 15.
Tides of Annihilation
Tides of Annihilation is a fantasy action-adventure inspired by Arthurian legend. Uncover the mystery of an otherworldly invasion in a shattered modern London, unleashing hordes of enemies. As Gwendolyn, fight alongside spectral knights to save your family and piece a broken world back together.
Is it just me, or am I the only one getting Fang from FF13 vibes when they look at Gwendolyn during gameplay? This isn’t a bad thing at all, it’s just a thought that came to my mind. Also, the pain of being bad at souls-likes, but a lot of souls-likes appealing to me.
