All Game Announced at Day of the Devs

All game announcements made on 2023 Day of the Devs.
More game announcements??? So many games to look forward to as I try to ignore my growing backlog.
Militsioner
Militsioner is a first-person surreal immersive runaway simulator. The Giant-Policeman keeps order in town. You haven’t broken the law, have you? Of course, someone must have been telling lies, but this morning you were arrested.
This one is hard to look over not because it’s the first game showcased, but like it’s about a town that’s watched by a giant police man. Not gonna lie, I just love the side eye he gives you. And oh boy the creepy face overlay that happens sometimes. I’ll certainly keep an eye on this one and be looking forward to more information coming out about the game.
Loose Leaf: A Tea Witch Simulator
Manage a tea room between worlds with the most in-depth tea brewing simulation ever. Experiment with ingredients and tools to find the best recipes for serving your haunted guests. Then read their fortune in the cards to help ease their worries. Will you become a true Tea Master?
You better believe I would definitely play a game where you’re a tea witch. I may not like tea, but I will surely make it for those that do and hey, it’s even better in games as there’s no dishes to clean.
Thank Goodness You’re Here (Steam/PS5/Switch)
Thank Goodness You’re Here! is an absurd comedy slapformer set in the bizarre Northern English town of Barnsworth. As a traveling salesman, take the time to see the sights and meet the locals, who are very eager to give you a series of increasingly odd jobs…
Oh wow, I’m definitely going to have to play this one. I love the art style and it looks like it’s going to be a fun game.
Kind Words 2
A game about being kind to real people. Send nice letters from your cozy room, go outside and say hi to your neighbors, swap recommendations, dress up for the poetry slam and add your dreams to a sky full of wishes. Join a community of real people with their hearts on their sleeves.
I was not expecting Kind Words to get a sequel. I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since the first game came out and this one has a lot more rooms and an actual road to walk on with scenery to look at.
Flock (Steam/Xbox/Playstation)
Flock is a multiplayer co-op game about the joy of flight and collecting adorable flying creatures with your friends. Soar through beautiful landscapes, seeking out rare and elusive creatures to add to your flock.
It makes sense why this barely got a few seconds mention during the Wholesome Direct since it got a full gameplay showcase here. This definitely won me over more. This has no release yet, but you can play the demo now.
Hermit and Pig
Hermit and Pig is a turn-based, adventure RPG about a reclusive hermit and his truffle-hunting pig. These unlikely heroes must explore, forage, fight, and overcome unfortunate personal shortcomings to solve the mystery of a sinister corporate plot.
Dome King Cabbage
A short visual novel set in the world of a monster-collecting RPG. Grappling with their ability to perceive reality through an RPG lens, Mush navigates their way to a job interview for the enigmatic title of “Dome-King.”
Wow, this one has such an interesting look plus we all need some more monster collecting in our lives. I can’t wait until we get a release date for this one.
Ultros (Steam/Playstation)
ULTROS is a psychedelic metroidvania where you wake up stranded on The Sarcophagus — a cosmic uterus holding an ancient, demonic being. Trapped in the loop of a black hole, you will have to explore The Sarcophagus and meet its inhabitants to understand the part you play…
This will release soon next year on February 13.
Holstin (Steam/Switch/Xbox/Playstation)
A psychological survival horror game set in an eerie, isolated 90’s Polish town consumed by an ominous presence. You’ve come looking for answers, but everyone seems possessed by something foul. Explore the festering town, interrogate locals and fight ungodly manifestations to get to the truth.
I actually just watched a gameplay video of this game and it showed up as a game announcement! You can play the demo now or wait until it releases later on.
Oddada
A no-pressure roguelite music builder. Drop cute houses onto all kinds of places and be rewarded with your own little hand-crafted music track.
Cryptmaster
SAY ANYTHING in this bizarre dungeon adventure where words control everything. Fill in the blanks with text or voice to uncover lost abilities, solve strange quests, and play unexpected mini-games. Use your words to conquer the crypt and unleash a whole new kind of “spell casting!”
Cryptmaster certainly is interesting, both with its art style and that it’s a typing game which we don’t see often. Though, the voiceover done over the gameplay really didn’t help this game. I couldn’t stand the voiceover and was going to write it off as I wouldn’t be able to deal with it for the whole game, but it’s toned down in the game’s actual trailer you can watch on the store page. It does look like that devil skull guy will appear a lot as he seems like the crypt’s master. This will release next year, but you can try out the game now with the demo.
Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story
42 of the weirdest, trippiest, sheepiest games ever created. Enter the mind of Jeff Minter, the legendary creator of Attack of the Mutant Camels, Gridrunner, and Tempest 2000, in this interactive documentary from Digital Eclipse.
Drag Her!
Drag Her! is a fast, fabulous and frenetic 2D fighter that features a roster of real-life drag royalty, including the iconic Alaska 5000, Kim Chi, Laganja Estranja & so many more.
I don’t remember where I saw this game before, but man does it really stick in your mind. I don’t play fighting games, but this does look interesting.
Braid: Anniversary Edition (Steam/Playstation/Xbox)
Braid is a puzzle-platformer, drawn in a painterly style, where you can manipulate the flow of time in strange and unusual ways. From a house in the city, journey to a series of worlds and solve puzzles to rescue an abducted princess.
This one isn’t exactly a new game, but the game’s visuals and music has been updated as well as adding some more content. This is set to come out next year on April 30.
Open Roads (Steam/Consoles)
Long-lost family secrets. Hints of a hidden fortune. And miles to go before they sleep. Tess Devine’s relationship with her mom has never been easy, but they’re about to set out together on a journey into the past that they’ll never forget.
This is set to release next year on February 22.
Janet Demornay is a Slumlord (and a Witch)
An escape room, horror-comedy about the anxieties and horrors of what it is to be a renter in a world run by landlords. …and your landlord is a witch.
Well, this one looks interesting, especially since this is a horror escape room type game. This will release sometime next year.
Home Safety Hotline
Hearing noises? Seeing things? Call Home Safety Hotline! Our operators are standing by, waiting to give you the answers you need to protect your home from all manner of pests and household hazards.
I was not expecting this to appear on any game showcases, but I’m glad it did. I actually played the demo a while ago and it really won me over through the course of the demo. This is set to release next year and if you’re not sure about this game, I definitely recommend trying out the demo.
Resistor
A turbocharged narrative-driven adventure RPG featuring open-world exploration, stunt-infused racing, and explosive vehicular combat! Build up your team and unravel a twisting story as you compete to take down an oppressive mega-corporation and its enigmatic director.
The Mermaid’s Tongue
Magnus Mortuga has been killed. The captain of the world’s strangest submarine, he was found in a locked room with an ancient stone cauldron – unsealed and opened for the first time. How did he die? Was it a curse? Perhaps one of his eccentric crew? Or does the bizarre truth run even deeper…
This is set to release next year and the demo is now available for you to play.
Nirvana Noir (Steam/Xbox)
A noir adventure beyond time and space. The city of cosmic beings is under threat in two parallel realities – one where the Big Bang was never fired, the other exploding in color and sin. It’s up to you to solve the mysteries of the Bigger Bang in this follow up to the award-winning Genesis Noir.
Vampire Survivors: Emergency Meeting DLC
Gather your most trusted Crewmates, prepare to eject the Impostors, and try to survive while mowing down thousands of extra-terrestrial foes in this expansion for Vampire Survivors. Turn classic Among Us tasks into outrageous weapons, upgrading your abilities after every roguelite run to overcome impossible odds with ease. Be alert to subterfuge as you explore the vast weirdness of the Polus Replica and keep your wits about you, as suspicious eyes are always watching.
This will be available to purchase soon, on December 18.
