XBox and Bethesda Games Showcase Recap
Why must I want games that are exclusive to different consoles?!?
- 12 Minutes
An interactive thriller about a man trapped in a time loop of 12 minutes where what should have been a romantic evening with your wife turned into a nightmare of an officer accusing your wife of murder. This is releasing on August 19 on Steam.
- A Plague Tale: Requiem
Coming next year, this takes place after the first game with Amicia and Hugo running and hiding from knights chasing them. You’ll also be more powerful as this showed Hugo summoning a tidal wave of rats.
- Age of Empires 4
Coming October 28, this is a RTS game that will put you in the center of epic historical battles that shaped the world.
- Among Us
The game where you’re either a crewmate (desperately completing tasks and trying to sniff out those that aren’t part of the crew) or an imposter (killing and sabotaging the crewmates) is getting future updates including adding 15 player support, new colors, graphics updates, a new map, and new ways to play (including the fan favorite Hide ‘n’ Seek).
- Atomic Heart
An upcoming first person game that’s set in 1955’s Soviet Union, but with robots.
- Back 4 Blood
This co-op zombie shooter where you and friends try to eradicate the Ridden (aka the zombies) and reclaim the world is getting a new PVP mode.
- Battlefield 2042
Looks like a new Battlefield is coming, which will feature 128 player battles, dynamic storms, enviornmental hazards, and combat freedom where everyone will be dumped into the Hazard Zone. More news will come during EA Play on July 22.
A new open world co-op game where you’ll be smuggling goods in the fictional world of 1970s Bayan. This will be coming to PC and XBox Series.
- Diablo 2: Resurrection
Coming September 23, this is a full HD remaster of Diablo 2 and its expansion where your hero is corrupted by the Lord of Terror’s essence and you must find a way to control the source of the demons that’s been pouring in.
- Eiyuden Chronicle
Hundred Heroes and Rising are aiming to be released next year and 2023. These games are spiritual successors to Suikoden, with hundred Heroes being a JRPG with 100+ playable characters that are forced into the fires of war; with Rising being an action RPG with town building mechanics, fast paced combat, and back-stories to the characters that will appear in Hundred Heroes.
- Fallout 76
July 7 will mark the release of Steel Reign update (which will bring the conclusion of the Brotherhood of Steel storyline) with The Pitt (which will have players going to Fallout 3’s Pittsburgh) update coming next year.
- Far Cry 6
Coming out for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on October 7, you’ll set out on a fictional Caribbean island that’s ruled as a dictatorship by El Presidente Anton Castillo, who is raising his son to follow in his shoes. And you come in to topple him and his regime down. This will also include a Season Pass where you’ll be going into the minds of the villains in previous games.
- Forza Horizon 5
Coming November 9, this is a racing game that takes place in Mexico and it will also have an open world battle royale mode.
A game where you play as a kid shrunken down to the size of an ant is getting an update called Shroom and Doom which will bring in mushroom castles, aphid taming, the Broodmother, and more on June 30.
- Halo Infinite
The next Halo game that was supposed to release alongside the XBox Series has a loose release date of this Holiday, but there’s still a possibility that this can be delayed again. A new trailer was shown where Master Chief has a new AI helping him after Cortana was (assumed) to be deleted. This will also have a f2p multiplayer mode.
- Microsoft Flight Simulator
Coming to Xbox on July 27.
- Party Animals
A chaotic physics-based party game that’s basically like Gang Beasts where you grab and smack your opponents and push them over to their deaths. This is coming next year
- Psychonauts 2
A platform adventure game where you return to play as Raz after he finally gets to join the psychic espionage organization Psychonauts. You’ll be going back into people’s brains and use your psychic powers to save your leader. This is releasing August 25 on PC and Xbox.
Hopefully this can still capture what made the first Psychonauts so good (seriously, go buy it, it’s so cheap) despite how much time has passed. It’s also coming as a full priced $60 game so high hopes. Though I’m a bit bummed this won’t be arriving on Playstation, at least not at launch. I guess it’s as good time as ever to replay the first game.
A new vampire shooter game from Arkane Studios coming exclusively to XBox and PC.
A new sci-fi action platformer coming next year where you play as an AI trapped inside a human body that eventually finds out the secrets of Phoenix-City.
- Sea of Thieves X Pirates of the Caribbean
The most obvious collab is happening on June 22 with a game that players game roleplay being pirates and the movie series Pirates of the Caribbean.
A snowboarding game coming this December to XBox Series.
- Slime Rancher 2
Slime Rancher is getting a sequel! This is coming next year, but looks like slimes from the first game will be returning as well as all new slimes including a bunny one. Hopefully the performance on consoles is better this time around and that this will eventually arrive on Playstation.
(I also may have a review of Slime Rancher coming out soon so watch out for that)
A creepy game that looks like it’ll follow a family of three as they try to survive a post-apocalypse and solve puzzles. This will come next year.
Coming next year exclusively to XBox Series and PC, this is Bethesda’s open world sci-fi game that was teased years back.
- STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl
Coming next year on April 28 to XBox Series and PC, you’ll be going to Chernobyl to fight irradiated monsters, explore for secrets, and connect with other characters.
- The Ascent
Coming July 29, this is a solo and co-op shooter RPG set in a cyberpunk world where a mega corp owns everyone and is threatening the survival of your district.
- The Outer Worlds 2
The Outer Worlds is getting a sequel! This is just an announcement that it is being worked on, so we have a ways to go still, but if this isn’t a sign to actually finish Outer Worlds, then I don’t know what is.
